An ebuild for this new version is attached. Note that espeak now respects LDFLAGS, so the LDFLAGS patch is no longer required. Reproducible:
Created attachment 265901 [details] espeak-1.45.01.ebuild Here's an ebuild for the latest version of espeak.
This has been added to the tree, and the ebuild has been converted to EAPI 4 so that I could take advantage of required_use. Thanks for the report.
seems like 1.45.01 was removed from SF page in favor of 1.45.02 http://sourceforge.net/projects/espeak/files/espeak/espeak-1.45/ and 1.45.01 is not yet on gentoo distfiles mirror simple upgrade by rename worked for me fine mv espeak-1.45.01.ebuild espeak-1.45.02.ebuild mv files/espeak-1.45.01-fix-libname.patch files/espeak-1.45.02-fix-libname.patch ebuild espeak-1.45.02.ebuild digest I'll open separate bug if you want and it's worth it :).

Martin, thanks for the report. In the future though, please open a new bug. This bug was actually resolved when 1.45.01 was in the tree and a new version bump should be handled by a new bug.
