The new version merges fine without changes to the ebuild (after manually fetching the source since upstream does not provide fetchable URL).

Also note that there's an obsolete patch in $FILESDIR.

Version 3.33 is in the tree. The source tarball has been uploaded to the mirrors, so give it some time to become available on your local mirrors.
