And KCM module does not see manualy created local policies
According to this thread: http://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=94139&sid=302fa9adc60f0a37361a68e0c0186019&p=191581#p191581 it is not a polkit / kcm problem but a distribution specific one.
Which kde version are you using? How about 4.6.2?
(In reply to comment #3) > Which kde version are you using? > How about 4.6.2? It is also not working here with 4.6.2. Strange: It flawlessly works with usb sticks, cdroms but totally not with my esata drive which gets recognized as "system internal disk". Mounts after giving the password manually. Does not save the password and the kcm module forgets about it right after systemsettings are closed.
Still no progress with 4.6.3 and various udisks versions later... Has anyone fixed this so far?
Bump. Still not working with KDE-4.6.4 This seems to get a never ending story?
(In reply to comment #6) > Bump. > Still not working with KDE-4.6.4 > This seems to get a never ending story? Also still present in KDE-4.7.0.
Can you test it in KDE 4.7.3?
(In reply to comment #8) > Can you test it in KDE 4.7.3? I have KDE 4.7.3 installed. This bug is still present here.

Funny thing, I only experience a problem with PolicyKit AFTER upgrading to 4.7.3. The system log file (/var/log/messages) says: dbus[2246]: [system] Activating service name='org.kde.kcontrol.kcmkdm' (using servicehelper) dbus[2246]: [system] Successfully activated service 'org.kde.kcontrol.kcmkdm' when trying to change settings in the "Login screen" section of KDE settings, but a popup says "Unable to authenticate/execute the action: (code 4)" and my changes are not saved. What's more is that I cannot log out, reboot, power off from KDE. Most options in the "Leave" part of the main menu have no effect (not even in log files). What can I check?
I should add that it works now, I'm running KDE 4.7.4.
(In reply to comment #12) > I should add that it works now, I'm running KDE 4.7.4. I'm running 4.7.4 too but nothing has changed for me.
I can confirm that problem. It didn't work with 4.8.* and now also not in 4.9. Might worth to mention: There are two kcm modules from polkit: kcm_polkitactions and kcm_polkitconfig. First i saw that none of them saved the settings i made. After testing around i found that downgrading to sys-auth/polkit-0.104-r1 kcm_polkitconfig actually saved the changes. Even after updating again to the latest version, changes still gonna be saved. Though it only helped for the kcm_polkitconfig. kcm_polkitactions still don't work.
Confirm the problem (kde 4.9)
Created attachment 324076 [details] Live ebuild for newer version This bug is fixed upstream year ago: https://projects.kde.org/projects/extragear/base/polkit-kde-kcmodules-1/repository/revisions/600bd94954c846e9694c303902d6ac7f9bc897fa I'm using live ebuild with revision EGIT_COMMIT="9814f614fe56758f29fa3a1839f66342178b2f94", and everything works for me (Gentoo Stable, KDE 4.8.5). Someone just need to update the ebuild in portage.
Comment on attachment 324076 [details] Live ebuild for newer version There is already a live ebuild in the kde overlay.
