The current udev-guide.xml still mentions libsysfs and its "three subprojects". However, udev has evolved and now uses the uevent interface. namedev is not needed nor used anymore and libsysfs is also parked away. Attached a patch to the udev-guide.xml containing the following changes: - remove reference to namedev - remove reference to libsysfs - add short paragraph on uevent - refer to /lib/udev/rules.d as well (next to /etc/udev/rules.d) [1] - refer to the 10.0 profiles rather than 2007 (gentoo profiles) - add notification about SYSFS_DEPRECATED (should not be set) - drop the configuration section (to use udev-only system) as that is standard nowadays in Gentoo [1] I am assuming that multilib users will know that this means /lib64/udev/rules.d on their systems...
