The update to squeezeboxserver is (mostly) broken. - 3 problems 1. Cannot access any streaming media via url (radio stations, etc) - fails with: Slim::Networking::Discovery::Players::_players_error (145) Unable to get players: Connect timed out: Transport endpoint is not connected This happens even with ethernet connections. Media on disk is ok. 2. The plugins page on the web interface is not accessible - just hangs. 3. /etc/init.d/squeezeboxserver stop fails with "ERROR: squeezeboxserver failed to stop" Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. start squeezeboxserver 2. access localhost:9000 - then settings, Plugins tag 3. access any internet radio station. Nothing happens. Actual Results: Crashes, no audio, error messages, you name it. Expected Results: Music! This is the last time I will upgrade squeezeboxserver. Every time there is no end of pain involved - this time nothing I do will get it working. Once I do get it working I'll lock the version down, and possibly even portage - it seems to be getting quite unstable these days.

Thanks for the report. Sorry you're having trouble. We've just dropped a squeezeboxserver-7.5.3 ebuild into the tree which we believe fixes these problems (see bug#352753 for the details). The easiest thing is to probably re-sync portage and try that later build. It's possible for us to fix that, but given 7.5.3 is now out I'm not sure of the value of that. Joe, I think you could just patch that AnyEvent dependency line in and produce a 7.5.2-r1, but I've not tested that. Alternatively we could remove the 7.5.2 ebuild from Portage. 7.5.3 was released by Logitech only a few days after 7.5.2 so it's effectively a bug-fixed 7.5.2.
OK, I've removed 7.5.2. Please open a new bug if there are similar problems with 7.5.3.
