running an 'emerge -uND @world' all progressed well till texlive basic failed to either find the above files or they aren't in a usable condition. Both the .ini files are in /usr/share/texmf-dist Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.emerge -uND @world 2.emerge unpacks texlive-basic-2010 3.runs the configure cycle Actual Results: `luatex -ini -jobname=dviluatex -progname=dviluatex dviluatex.ini' failed `luatex -ini -jobname=luatex -progname=luatex luatex.ini' failed * ERROR: dev-texlive/texlive-basic-2010 failed (compile phase): * failed to build format texmf/fmtutil/format.texlive-basic.cnf * * Call stack: Expected Results: texlive compiled & installed followed several of the suggestions in the bugreports for other similar versions of this problem, all failed. ran emerge --depclean and this was responsible for a lot of files being removed & texmf-update was run at least twice that I could see. but on rerunning emerge texlive failed the same way.
