Created attachment 265105 [details] PEAR-Net_IPv6-1.2.1.ebuild New package for PEAR IPv6 (similar to PEAR-NET_IPv4). The class allows you to: * check if an address is an IPv6 address * compress/uncompress IPv6 addresses * check for an IPv4 compatible ending in an IPv6 address * check the assigned address space of an IPv6 address * do netmask calculations
First: sorry for the late reply. I haven't been around for a while and when I left the php team was somewhat reluctant to touch PEAR package additions at all (increased workload and all this). Is adding this to the overlay an option for you? This stuff seems very low maintenance *cough* so maybe we can add this to main tree? Ole?
My thoughts on new PEAR packages were: 1. Merge dev-php categories 2. Set a proper naming convention and pkgmove all packages to forward them 3. Finish a proper version of epear https://github.com/olemarkus/epear 4. Remove all non-common packages from portage and introduce policies similar to pear and g-cpan I have not seen any reason for me to change this view, so the overlay seem appropriate until this package becomes deps for other packages. I am open for discussion on this though.
This package is needed by software such as observium (http://observium.org), but ... observium is not packaged in gentoo (yet ?). Anyway, an overlay is probably ok for me.
I've added the package to the php overlay over at http://git.overlays.gentoo.org/gitweb/?p=proj/php.git You can get the overlay via layman: $ layman -a php
