Created attachment 265025 [details] screenshot snippet the old bugzilla would not automatically cc you whenever you posted a comment. now, you need to manually uncheck the "Add me to CC list" box everytime you make a comment. this sucks for devs that track many bugs purely through aliases.
ugh, i guess it happens for any bug editing and not just comments. so if i simply re-assign a bug to someone else, i automatically get cc-ed.
http://bugs.gentoo.org/userprefs.cgi and "Automatically add me to the CC list of bugs I change". Can be either "disable if you don't like" or "somebody can enable if really really misses this feature", depending on your personal opinion on that matter.
true, but there is still a "site default" toggle. imo, that "site default" should be "Never". most other bugzilla-4 installs ive used go this route.

I think the best solution for this is to have bugzilla detect that the person is already CCed/assigned via an alias, and/or that the change is made by a bug-wrangler.
i'd be fine with that as the default, but i'm not sure bugzilla has that functionality, or can access that sort of data. the aliases exist on dev.g.o, not bugs.g.o ...
(In reply to comment #6) > i'd be fine with that as the default, but i'm not sure bugzilla has that > functionality, or can access that sort of data. the aliases exist on dev.g.o, > not bugs.g.o ... I *think* bugzilla already does a check to not show the checkbox if the user is already CCed, so it could be extended to check aliases. A syncing mechanism b/w dev.ge.o and bugs.ge.o would also have to be devised, but I don't know anything about all this so I didn't say anything about it :p
I agree...this is going to create a lot of unneeded spam...

I just disabled the auto CC.
