When I try to emerge GNUCash I get this:

/var/tmp/portage/gnucash-1.8.7/work/gnucash-1.8.7/src/gnome-utils/.libs/libgncmod-gnome-utils.so: undefined reference to `gnome_app_helper_gettext'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[4]: *** [test-link] Error 1


Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1) emerge gnucash
2) ??
3) Error!

I have not compiled your gnome-libs with nls support enabled. Remerging gnome-base/gnome-libs should fix that.

.. it is odd that there are no simple means to detect whether a package has been compiled with a certain flag. Or is there something?

Maybe OT, but there is a way to find out flags for a package, i.e.:

cd /var/db/pkg/kde-base/kdebase-3.2.0_beta2/
cat USE
