when a pkg maintainer makes a change, this change should only target certain systems where appropriate. EX: a maintainer makes a commit: "update gcc to fix the BLAH on $ARCH systems." Maybe all users are 'optional' for this update, but only systems with $ARCH are required for this update. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Expected Results: fewer packages to rebuild on 'emerge update system'
i dont really think this happens all that often and thus isnt really an issue ... usually bugs are cross platform
Too complicated for too little benefit.
