Did you setup the date / timezone correctly?
Comment 3 Sergey Mironov 2011-03-06 08:23:00 UTC
I think the answer is no. I just created my cross-build environment and launched

emerge-arm-module3-linux-gnueabi system

so target machine's /etc was untouched. Host's machine time and date are ok.
Comment 4 Sergey Mironov 2011-03-06 08:30:17 UTC
I think target's /etc was almost empty at the moment. No timezone, no date file. Which package on normal system does timezone management? Baselayout?
Comment 5 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2011-03-07 13:20:40 UTC
target doesnt matter. your build system's time is screwed up:
make[2]: warning: Clock skew detected. Your build may be incomplete.

further, you probably need to make sure your build system's version of `file` matches the one you're cross-compiling.
Comment 6 Jeroen Roovers (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-03-07 22:19:57 UTC
So it's invalid, then?
Comment 7 Sergey Mironov 2011-03-07 23:46:28 UTC
Clock skew is a problem, yes, but I think it is not the source of build failure. I've merged lots of other packages on this system.

My host system has file-5.04, while I'm trying to cross-emerge 5.05. Well.. I will upgrade the host and write here result.
