I have my kenel installed with genkernel. sys-kernel/genkernel-3.4.12.5 sys-kernel/gentoo-sources-2.6.36-r5 When updated my system yesterday sys-fs/udisks-1.0.2 was installed and it says: CONFIG_IDE: should not be set. But it is. Since CONFIG_IDE is marked as DEPRECATED in 2.6.37 (latest stable gentoo-/hardened-sources) and has been for some time at least on x86/x86_64, maybe it is time to remove it from the default configuration for at least those arch? @reporter: ar workaround is to use "genkernel all --menuconfig" and unmark "Device drivers -> ATA/ATAPI/MFM/RLL support (DEPRECATED)".
