When I encountered the error, I unmasked and upgraded to boost-1.45.0 to see if that would correct the issue. It didn't. I even tried setting boost to 1.41.0 with no change in the results. gnash has problems to build if you have old boost installed. So unless you have a particular reason to keep boost-1.35, I suggest to run "emerge -C boost:0" If that does not help, please reopen the bug.
