This actually seems to be a problem with klcc, which fails to recognize the --param option. Reassigning to kernel-misc@, the maintainers of klibc.
I wrote a patch for klcc to handle the --param, this was accepted by upstream and should be in the next version of klibc when it gets released. http://git.kernel.org/?p=libs/klibc/klibc.git;a=commit;h=bd6a9d0855c20334d6b8c5446f8554e1fe17ac9b
*** Bug 356723 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
A workaround is using --param=foo=bar.
(In reply to comment #5) > A workaround is using --param=foo=bar. No that doesn't work
What version of klibc are you using?
Version >= 1.5.22 of klibc has support for the --param option
1.5.20
(In reply to comment #9) > 1.5.20 There's your answer.
klibc-1.5.23 is now in the tree so it should work with --param now.
I will test it once I can emerge klibc correctly
it works with --param foo=bar, but it should also support --param=foo=bar.
(In reply to comment #13) > it works with --param foo=bar, but it should also support --param=foo=bar. Looks like Mike just submitted another patch for that upstream.
This is now in klibc-1.5.25
