python-twitter-0.8.1 has been released which adds support for OAuth authentication that is now required by the Twitter APIs. Please bump, thanks!
Created attachment 264137 [details] ebuild for =dev-python/python-twitter-0.8.1 One note, this requires dev-python/oauth2 which has no stable ebuilds.
+1 this ebuild is mostly useless, it would be nice to have an updated version.
You say that python-twitter-0.6, presented in tree, cannot be used anymore and must be removed?
(In reply to comment #3) > You say that python-twitter-0.6, presented in tree, cannot be used anymore and > must be removed? IMO, it is at least nearly useless. 0.6 does not support the OAuth authentication that the twitter API now requires. I think it is possible to bolt OAuth onto 0.6, but 0.8.1 integrated OAuth out of the box making it tremendously more useful. Hope this helps.

Done bumping. 30 Apr 2011; Maxim Koltsov (maksbotan) <maksbotan@gentoo.org> -python-twitter-0.6.ebuild, +python-twitter-0.8.1.ebuild: dev-python/python-twitter version bump, #356815 Removed dev-python/python-twitter as it's unusable now, commented out testsuite in ebuild as not passable, drop ppc keyword 'cause mandatory dependency oauth2 doesn't have it.
