beta3 works much better for me, as it is now able to re-synchronised the line after a glitch (like me unplugging the phone jack) which it didn't before. Apparently it also has fixes for mishandled interrupts (possibly relating to bug 32798) and differences in firmware. As such I'm reporting this as a bug to be fixed, since the release is essentially a bugfix release. No need to send you a new ebuild, just copying the existing one to the new name works for me. Having said that, just this evening my connection failed without a single log entry, while I was out. *grr* this is most frustrating.
