Description Jason Wallace 2011-02-25 19:16:38 UTC
Snort's version bump to 2.9.0.4 included a patch. Somewhere along the upload to Bugzilla or download/commit process, ms-dos line endings were added to the patch that got committed. This is causing the ebuild to fail for all users!

the patch can be found at Bug 355865.

All that is needed is a non-corrupted version to committed to portage.

Reproducible: Always

This bug has been fixed and the patch included with the Snort-2.9.0.4 ebuild is now working and in portage. Thanks

Should have been specific, sorry, as I have no idea if other platforms are still having issues. Working for me on Gentoo 2.6.34-gentoo-r11 amd64.

Yes, it seems to have been CVS revision 1.1 to 1.2 that fixed it.
