Description mehrunes 2011-02-24 18:07:49 UTC
I tested gcc-4.5.2 on two computers, both amd64, one with AMD CPU, another with Intel

Results are very similar: count of unexpected failures for gcc/libstdc++/libmudflap is 7/18/48

> grep 'unexpected failures' 4.5.2_amd.log
# of unexpected failures 7
# of unexpected failures 18
# of unexpected failures 48

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. unkeyword sys-devel/gcc-4.5.2
2. FEATURES=test emerge =sys-devel/gcc-4.5.2
3.

Actual Results:
some tests fail

Expected Results:
tests successful

Since results are very similar, I only publish information from Intel box

emerge log

I wonder is it normal that core component such as gcc compiler or python fails tests?

Oh yes, very common.
Comment 3 Ryan Hill (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-03-02 00:58:45 UTC
The libmudflap fails look odd anyways. Could you attach the .sum and .log files installed into /usr/share/doc.

libmudflap.log compressed

libmudflap.log is over 2M, so keeping files compressed

libmudflap.log from intel box, compressed

posts no. 4 and 5 contain files from AMD computer while previous posts contain information from Intel computer.

Now correcting this and posting files from Intel computer:
 intel-libmudflap.log.lzma
 intel-libmudflap.sum.lzma

Comment 8 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2015-10-02 22:33:47 UTC
mudflap has been removed with gcc-4.9+ so we no longer track test failures in it
