dev-lang/swi-prolog-5.11.13 build fail log
Comment 2 keenblade 2011-02-28 00:47:23 UTC
The last successful emerge was swi-prolog-5.11.10 which is not in portage anymore. Since then all new versions are fails with exactly the same error as attached log above. I tried latest swi-prolog-5.11.15 and it failed, too.
Comment 3 Keri Harris gentoo-dev 2011-02-28 06:07:28 UTC
Thanks for the update. I suspect there's something odd going on with how wait_t is defined when you are compiling the xpce package. Can you provide the following files for inspection from a failed compile:

packages/xpce/src/config.h
src/config.h
Comment 4 Keri Harris gentoo-dev 2011-02-28 06:38:37 UTC
I think I have an idea about why it's failing for you. There's a configure check in packages/xpce for 'union wait'. This check attempts to compile some code with "-Werror" in CFLAGS (i.e any GCC warnings mean we don't have union wait). However in your case you have "-w" in CFLAGS so all warnings are suppressed.
Comment 5 keenblade 2011-02-28 10:44:16 UTC
Hi, Keri. I removed "-w" in my CFLAGS and guess what! swi-prolog now emerges fine. I tested a couple of times and it is the same: if "-w" in my CFLAGS, emerge fails with same error.
And you are right for wait_t oddity. The config file packages/xpce/src/config.h is different just one line like this:

Failing packages/xpce/src/config.h has this line:
#define UNION_WAIT 1

Successful packages/xpce/src/config.h has this line:
/* #undef UNION_WAIT */

And src/config.h is the same for both emerges.
Anyway I am attaching the files since you may want to look inspect them.

src/config.h

This file is exactly the same for both failing or not failing emerges: src/config.h
Comment 9 keenblade 2011-12-10 12:28:11 UTC
New versions of swi-prolog emerges fine. Thanks to whoever fixed it. Closin bug.
