I emerged inkscape and I wanted to use the function "Path -> Trace bitmap ..." to create a vector graphics out of a bitmap, but the function didn't work, because inkscape needs the (not yet installed) potrace package. Expected: Install inkscape for vectorising a bitmap Result: Vectorising doesn't work without potrace Enhancement: Add media-gfx/potrace as dependency of the inkscape ebuild
No, potrace is embedded into Inkscape as you can read here [1]. I tested bitmap tracing following the instructions found on the Inkscape wiki [2] on a system without potrace using inkscape-0.48.0 and they worked fine. Closing as invalid.
