I updated the snapshot, please test and report back
the problem is still present. Anyway there is only if the user not using the default module for knetworkmanger
Can you reproduce this problem using the plasmoid instead of the monolithic version? I use NM-0.8 with Plasma NM and I do not have this problem. Anyway, the monolithic knetworkmanager you are using is unmaintained since last year. I am not fixing bugs in it and I pretty sure nobody is, so please use Plasma NM instead. To use the plasmoid you need to enable systemsettings -> Startup and Shutdown -> NetworkManager User Settings Service, or no network (wired, wireless, 3G, vpn, etc) will appear in the plasmoid.
That is not the old monolithic knetworkmanager, that is a custom snapshot of the git.kde.org:networkmanagement master repository. We kept the name knetworkmanager in order to avoid confusion since the users were still asking for knetworkmanager. Since you are upstream though, I have three questions for you :) 1) Do you think we should rename it to networkmanagement instead? 2) Do you plan to release an official tarball? 3) If so, what will be its version? I used 4.4.0_p (p is for pre, means custom SCM snapshot in gentoo language) as I was expecting it to be released along with 4.4.0 back then. Thanks in advance
Ah actually it is the monolithic version, just saw this commit [1]. Anyway, my questions are still valid :) [1] http://quickgit.kde.org/?p=networkmanagement.git&a=blobdiff&h=6748cee6204c62bc64d9fac718c8a0e1cac6d93b&hp=3fd7b387070d8e9e1825767d0b829fbb4a9ef9b4&hb=50d6a36a5db0fbd7409338e27d32e3dea50a3312&f=CMakeLists.txt
1) Good question. I think the one used by OpenSuse, plasmoid-networkmanagement, would be better. I usually call it Plasma NM to make it short. 2) Nope. Although I am the only one regularly commiting to Plasma NM I am not the maintainer. I do not even know how to upload tarballs to KDE's ftp server. During Solid sprint last year we agreed to let Plasma NM as it is until we improve it enough to move it to kdebase. 3) The monolithic version number is 0.9, which is the version OpenSuse uses. The plasmoid does not have a version number. Plasma NM does not follow KDE SC release schedule, like all other programs in kdereview/extragear, so using SC version number is not a good idea. I think you can keep things as it is now. When we move to NetworkManger-0.9 there will be so many changes in Plasma NM that then we could add a version number to differentiate it from the current version. The screenshot in #1 is for the monolithic version, not the plasmoid.
(In reply to comment #4) > Can you reproduce this problem using the plasmoid instead of the monolithic > version? With plasmoid it works.
Resolving as invalid then. Lamarque, thanks again for your suggestions
