My random guess is that you are using something wrong with system includes or gcc.

There are KNOWN issue gcc-3.3.x that's why none are marked ppc/~ppc.

please try again with gcc-3.2.3 and report back if happens the same (I tried here locally with gcc-3.2.3 and everything is fine)

Do you still have this problem with 2.12-r4 or can we close this bug?
Comment 3 Jan Wuyts 2004-03-02 13:51:54 UTC
I am still using gcc-2.95.3-r7 (the system is otherwise up to date though)
for me the error message is a bit different:

gcc -c -O2 -fomit-frame-pointer -I../lib -Wall -Wmissing-prototypes -Wstrict-prototypes -DNCH=1   -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -DSBINDIR=\"/sbin\" -DUSRSBINDIR=\"/usr/sbin\" -DLOGDIR=\"/var/log\" -DVARPATH=\"/var\" -DLOCALEDIR=\"/usr/share/locale\" -O2 -pipe -mcpu=750 -mpowerpc-gfxopt -mmultiple -mstring llseek.c -o llseek.o
llseek.c: In function `_llseek':
llseek.c:40: more than 10 operands in `asm'

$ emerge info
!!! Using `which gcc` to gcc locate version, this may break
!!! DISTCC, installing gcc-config and setting your current gcc

Comment 4 Luca Barbato gentoo-dev 2004-03-03 07:17:22 UTC
1, check your kernel headers they have to be up to date
2, check your binutils it should be updated too.

please reopen this bug if the problem persists.
