I recently filed bug 34106 against D-Bus on freedesktop.org, but so far, they have done nothing about it.

Attached to the bug (not this bug, the fd.o bug) is a patch that should fix the bug. Until fd.o gets its act together, we should consider including this patch in the Gentoo distribution.

Freedesktop bug 34106 is incorporated by reference.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge dbus

Actual Results:  
Compilation fails because of the way dbus/dbus-sysdeps-unix.c checks for MSG_NOSIGNAL support (see fd.o bug 34106).

Expected Results:  
D-Bus should compile successfully.

Though I experienced the problem on Mac OS X, I believe that any other platform that does not have MSG_NOSIGNAL will have this problem as well (hence, an OS setting of 'all').

The upstream bug has now been fixed in 1.4.4.
