As is being discussed under bug 286722, the newer CEGUI ebuilds are being slotted because each new major version (0.6.x, 0.7.x, 0.8.x, etc.) breaks compatibility with earlier versions, but many programs are unable to locate the libraries and include files in the slotted directories. An eselect module which would automate the creation of symlinks which point the slotted directories to the default locations would be very helpful in managing multiple versions.
