Description Ervin Peters 2011-02-15 07:48:42 UTC
A year ago i recognized an annoying problem with a wrong mime-type of word documents attached to an email.

It was attached as plain/text and cut of after a few 10 bytes.

(on ~amd64 and ~x86 over more than a year)

I introduced that problem in sylpheed mailing-lists - no reaction, which means: not reproducable.

Next time, playing around with anjuta, I downloaded the 3.1.0-rc1 from upstream, build it via anjuta and...

...no more problem attaching an word doc.

then, 3.1.0 stable appears in portage tree. I tried it, and the problem occurs again.

My conclusion: gentoo specific.

I copied the ebuild to the local tree, removed all patches and build it.

Testing: Attaching a word document and sending it, works fine with right mime-type.

It seems to me that noone checked if thoose patches are needed anymore, and I suggest to remove them, because one of them breaks mime-handling of docs.

If noone has a serious reason to keep them ;)

Thank you for waiting! Fixed in CVS (sylpheed-3.1.1).
