It spams "(audacity:3153): Pango-CRITICAL **: void pango_font_description_set_size(PangoFontDescription *, gint): assertion `size >= 0' failed" to stderr indefinitely.

Hmm, in the usual way this won't reproduce here at all (with LANG=en_GB.UTF-8). Does the same problem happen if you change your LANG environment variable? This might give us a clue what is going wrong. Audacity will be picking up the language setting and trying to run in Russian, I presume you have other GTK software working in Russian?

Yeah, it works fine if i set LANG=C

uim-pref-gtk, uzbl and evilvte work fine. Didn't try any localized ones though.

Audacity-1.3-14 will be removed ASAP, can you reproduce this bug with latest stable 2.0.0?
