Description Jeffrey Forman (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-12-09 16:36:42 UTC
emerge sync'ing gives me rsync19.us, which seems to give WAY out of date
ebuilds. i spoke to ciaranm in #gentoo-dev who advised me to rsync agains
rsync1.uk, and that fixed it up.

rsync sever in question:
  Now serving the IPV6 pimps @ rsync6.netpimpz.com

  [rsync19.us.gentoo.org] - [168.215.173.144]

Running Gentoo on Dual PII400Mhz 512mb ram
  Connected via twtelecom.net 1.544Mbps T1
  Located in Houston, TX USA
Currently limited to 5 connections. Testing new setup.
  Admin contact: Michael Palmer [raven@netpimpz.com]

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

Michael,

Any info on the status? Looks like Nov 13th was the last sync.
Comment 2 Michael Palmer 2003-12-11 12:26:56 UTC
This mirror is currently down, and as of November 1st should be out of the rotation until further notice. We were supposed to be getting new hardware, but that has been delayed. Hopefully by January 1st we will be ready to go back online.

Did rsync.us.gentoo.org/rsync.gentoo.org point you to this server?
Comment 3 Jeffrey Forman (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-12-11 12:43:53 UTC
rsync.g.o pointed me to it. i'm located in austin,tx , just down the road from Houston (approx 150 miles) where your machine is located, so i assume by geographics, i got routed to your machine, rsync19.us.g.o.
Comment 4 Peter Penkala gentoo-dev 2003-12-30 11:57:14 UTC
Michael,

Any more info on when the mirror might be available again?

Thanks.
Comment 5 Jeffrey Forman (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-02-04 06:28:11 UTC
rsync19.us dns record and access to private mirror removed. if you would like to contribute again, please file a new bug. thanks for helping gentoo out.
