Description ferret 2003-12-09 05:51:45 UTC
Sure, it's a lot of fun doing:

emerge -s fortune-mod- | grep \* | awk '{ print $2 }' | xargs emerge -p

But to be honest, it's a little boring :). Also, it means when another great
fortune-mod thingy comes along, I don't know about it. How about an ebuild that
contains all the fortune-mods? Then, when a new one is added, it can be updated.
The main problem I can see with this is that when each of the fortune mods are
updated, it won't show up in the emerge -up world. :(

Is there any way this is possible? Has it already been done and I'm just looking
in the wrong place? Maybe the all-fortune-mods ebuild (stupid name) can get a
version upgrade every time a fortune mod gets updated, but that's lame and would
get boring fast for the maintainers, I guess. Could it just be updated every X
time intervals? Will people mind that their favourite fortune-mods aren't getting
updated as often as they want?

Your thoughts please :) - I would write the ebuild for you but I have no clue
where to start, and figure the reasons against having one probably outweigh the
reasons for having one.
