During the last days i've seen a forums thread where a user had a problem with his installation. After checking for possible errors he self found the problem. He has a AMD Athlon CPU and used a athlon-xp optimized stage. I've talked with ian (forums moderator) about this issue. He told me that this is a common mistake. I think we should mention this in chapter 5, hb-install-stage, before the user has to choose a stage. A patch is attached.

Common mistake or not, users should read and think clearly. A stage for an athlon-xp is for athlon-xp, not athlon's lower than XP. The Gentoo store talks about this too (i686 description contains "original Athlon CPUs", athlon-xp talks about XP cpus and later). The choice is often made sooner than chapter 5: when the user downloads a CD his choice is already made in some circumstances (especially when he chose the 2-CD LiveCD set). I'll attach a patch that lists this issue. I will not duplicate that information throughout several chapters -- unless it is in an optional section, the user is supposed to read every line.

Created attachment 21972 [details, diff] Patch to hb-install-medium.xml Actually a <note> is indeed a better option here as the text is "disrupted". If a docdev can review?
Created attachment 21973 [details, diff] Patch to hb-install-medium.xml Oee, wait, I've added "(or stage)" because otherwise I'll get complaints that the note isn't clear enough :p
Patch looks good.
Patch applied.
