Hi, Smalltalk/X is a commercial implementation of the Smalltalk programming language and environment. Exept freely releases its software for non commercial uses. It is a very optimized implementation of Smalltalk, which can generate compiled code (though C code generation). It is only portable to UNIX systems.
Created attachment 1406 [details] ebuild file + patches
Not dead yet. This ebuild has been postponed as it is selected to be run through our new ebuild submission system. I've run it through a few times, and it produces various errors; we need help with how well the reported error messages are and how well the ebuild submission system works in general. It will take another few days before I can give you more details, as we need to plug the submission system into bugzilla.
There appears to be a routing problem so I can't fetch the tarball, nor can I check whether we are allowed to mirror it. I won't accept this one unless we can mirror it (and rename the filename), as it is unversioned, and will thus create huge problems when they release a new version (we had this problem with Macromedia Flash). Can you check if we're allowed to mirror the file ?
As we don't get the upstream binaries, there is little point in adding this to our tree. I'm killing this one.
We can mirror this freely, and the upstream provider is back up. I should just go ahead and fix this, then, I guess :)
Fixed. Available for testing as dev-lang/smalltalkx-4.1.4.
