I made a change to xastir-2.0.0-r2.ebuild to use ax25,and xastir appeared to build ok. But when activated it just tears up the screen horizontally and becomes unusable. I might add this only happened when I rebuilt xastir, the previous build did not suffer this malady, after the update, untill it had been running for some time, which is why the rebuild. I use a baycom style modem for accessing the local amateur traffic broadcasts,on ttyS0 & garmin gps12 xl on ttyUSB0,with a usb/serial adapter,as i only have one comport on this machine. I have since rebuilt libax25 ax25-apps & ax25-tools all V the ebuilds, but no difference is noted. I can stop and restart Xdm and the screen behaves normally for all the rest of the kde applications.

Please read the product and component descriptions, ebuild bugs go into the Gentoo Linux product. "packages.gentoo.org" is ONLY for that website.

If I understand you correct you changed the xastir-2.0.0-r1 ebuild to enable --with-ax25 option. That is not supported from our side. The point is you do not need Kernel AX.25 for your setup. Just use 'net2kiss' from the ax25-tools package and convert your ax.25 interface to a kiss terminal. Afterwards connect to the corresponding pty from xastir. That is the way I am running it by myself. But I would suggest to report your problem upstream. That is the right place. As the problem is not related to a Gentoo ebuild I am closing the bug as invalid. Feel free to contact me in private mail if you need help with my suggestions.
