The files needed to install emul-linux-x86-baselibs-20100915 (including -r1) are not available on their master site (dev.gentoo.org/~pacho/emul) anymore. Instead, this site only hosts the files needed for the 20110129 version, but this one isn't stabilized yet. The gentoo mirrors (like distfiles.gentoo.org) do contain the files, but for systems where other mirrors are selected as default, these mirrors are skipped. Suggestion: update 20100915's SRC_URI to point to 'http://distfiles.gentoo.org/distfiles/emul-linux-x86-baselibs-20100915.tar.bz2' until 20110129 is stabilized Alternative: stabilize 20110129 quickly Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. This bug was invalid from the beginning: If you set mirrors to valid ones, then Portage will always download from there first. Solution: Use correct mirrors. Pacho, I'm afraid you just wasted your time :)
The problem is that without that last commit, looks like old distfiles would be removed in a few days as no emul linux ebuild where referring to them: http://dev.gentoo.org/~zmedico/infra/distfiles/failure.xml
