Description david van rood 2011-02-04 17:58:52 UTC
Trying to update my system and it's stuck on emerging glibc.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.emerge --sync
2.emerge --update --ask world OR emerge --update --deep world
3.wait for glibc to attempt to emerge.

Actual Results:
>>> Failed to emerge sys-libs/glibc-2.11.2-r3, Log file:

>>>  '/var/tmp/portage/sys-libs/glibc-2.11.2-r3/temp/build.log'

 * Messages for package sys-libs/glibc-2.11.2-r3:

 * ERROR: sys-libs/glibc-2.11.2-r3 failed:
 *   make for x86 failed

Expected Results:
glibc should compile successfully.

This is causing the rest of my machines on the network that use it for distcc to be unable to perform updates/installs as well, for some reason, because of mismatched glibc and the other 18 updates this machine is missing...

512MB ram, quad core, generic hardware. Has been a distcc node for about a year now, just figured i'd update.

MARK AS FIXED.

there really should be a flag for distcc users in emerge to disable distcc on packages that will not compile while using distcc. This is one of them, there's a few others.
