A new version of libnfc has been released (version 1.4.1). Simply renaming the ebuild does the trick. Thanks, I've bumped this in my overlay, and will add it to the main tree once I've had a longer opportunity to play with it (feel free to poke me again if it hasn't been done after this weekend). Please note that the author still treats this code as beta, and as such the API changes often, and currently the soname matches all the previous ABI incompatible versions...
The latest stable libnfc ebuild is in the tree and I don't intend to add or support release candidates that have been out for nine months with no stable release to follow it, I'm therefore going to close this bug.
