Description Bram De Smet 2003-12-08 08:01:27 UTC
Hi,

I just made a small ebuild for Simpserver.

SimpServer is the first lightweight instant messaging security gateway for Unix systems. Install SimpServer on a Unix system and configure IM clients on your local network, and conversations with Simp-equipped parties will be automatically encrypted. SimpServer can indeed accept simultaneous remote connections and thus secure local and/or remote clients.

http://www.secway.fr/products/simpserver/home.php?PARAM=us,ns

I would suggest net-im/simpserver, no dependencies needed according to me.
Yet a new license is needed, I've made it /usr/portage/licenses/simpserver.

This week is going to be pretty busy... I'll probably get a chance to look at this Thursday night...

Bram, the ebuild is missing the Gentoo copyright notice, so you still retain intelectual property rights of this ebuild... In order for us to include this in portage, you must turn over those rights (the copyright) to Gentoo. Is this acceptable? You can do thia in the future by including the copyright header on ebuilds you submit to us.

alright, this package is now in portage as net-im/simpserver-bin... you might want to check out the modified ebuild as I made some style changes that you might want to look at if you're learning to write ebuilds... feel free to ask me for help on IRC if you have any questions.

thanks.
