Description Stuart Hickinbottom 2011-02-01 08:20:54 UTC
Please could I request the creation of an ebuild for this specific version of the CPAN Audio::Scan module?

This specific version is required by media-sound/squeezeboxserver-7.5.3 (SBS) and without it I won't be able to put together the 7.5.3 ebuild. Unfortunately SBS requires a very specific version of this module and there have been subtle problems in the past when newer-than-expected versions have been used instead.

This is currently blocking bug#352753.

Reproducible: Always

Added bug#352753 to 'blocks' list.
Comment 2 Torsten Veller (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-02-01 08:39:05 UTC
Added as dev-perl/Audio-Scan-0.840

Torsten, thanks. BTW, any reason for the trailing zero (0.840)? Portage now thinks that is newer than 0.85.

0.840 is in line with our "new" versioning scheme targeted at solving the problem where versioning sematics between CPAN modules and Gentoo Portage packages are different.

With the addition of 0.840, was the addition of 0.850, which is the "new" version for 0.85 , and 0.85 no longer exists: http://packages.gentoo.org/package/dev-perl/Audio-Scan

Thanks for the speedy ebuild - much appreciated. I've checked and it builds and installs fine for me - I can carry on trying to get squeezeboxserver working now!
