Recent upgrade to =media-gfx/hugin-2010.4.0 indicated that users now have to manually set the Control Point Detector.... READ THIS -- READ THIS -- READ THIS -- READ THIS -- READ THIS -- READ THIS If you see this message then you have upgraded from an earlier version of Hugin and have no Control Point Detector configured. Please open the Preferences window and Load Defaults for the Control Point Detectors setting. This will enable the new built-in Control Point Detector and you won't see this message again. ...the default is set to "Autopano-SIFT-C", but in order to get this to actually work you need to manually install media-gfx/autopano-sift-C. Setting a USE=autopano-sift-C for >=media-gfx/hugin-2010.4.0 would mean media-gfx/autopano-sift-C can be pulled in as a dependency if the user wants to use autopano-sift-C for control point detection Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge -av =media-gfx/hugin-2010.4.0 2. Start hugin 3. Load pictures to be stitched 4. Add control points 5. Configure to use autopano-sift-c Actual Results: You won't be able to until you emerge media-gfx/autopano-sift-c Expected Results: Having a USE=autopano-sift-c flag on >=media-gfx/hugin-2010.4.0 for media-gfx/autopano-sift-c would negate having to manually emerge the later package.
Sorry should have been clearer that it is optional to use autopano-sift-c for control point detection, there are other options that are included within hugin, but if you want to use autopano-sift-c it should probably be available as an optional USE flag.

Closing as invalid since the sift USE flag still exists for hugin-2010.4.0 if you want to use autopano-sift-c, it just isn't set by default anymore.
