Description darkbasic 2011-01-31 16:55:03 UTC
First time it failed, second time it compiled flawlessly.
I think it should build with a per-package MAKEOPTS="-j1".

Please paste your `emerge --info =dev-libs/ppl-0.10.2-r1' output in a comment, and attach the failing build log or logs.

I'm sorry, I missed the first email.

It's a fresh, base install with safe cflags and default profile. I attached full build log.

Reopened.
Comment 4 darkbasic 2011-02-03 19:16:44 UTC
MAKEOPTS was -j9, I changed it to -j17 to make some tests with distcc.

x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-g++: Internal error: Killed (program cc1plus)

You appear to be simply running out of memory. This is the OOM killer at work.
Comment 6 darkbasic 2011-02-03 19:56:12 UTC
With 3GB of memory, no services running except ssh and no graphical interface?
I can give up to 6GB to the virtual machine if you want, but I don't think the problem is a lack of memory...

With -j9 and with each cc1plus easily taking hundreds of megabytes of memory, yeah, you would quickly exhaust available memory. So please rule that out by testing with as much GBs of RAM as you can.
