Linux Mint devs will mantain a classical Gnome versione without Gnome-Shell and without Unity.
There is some intention to include this version in portage tree? it would be a great alternative to Gnome 3 with Gnome-Shell.

I'm asking if you can mantain in portage tree the next version of gnome patched by Linux Mint devs in alternative to the Gnome 3 desktop based entirely on Gnome-Shell.

I think we should close this bug as "LATER" since we still don't know how will maintain gnome-panel and so.

We will try to still provide gnome-panel and related stuff, upstream is also working on a "fallback" mode without gnome-shell for people having problems with 3D and so.
