Description Laurent Hugé 2011-01-30 10:36:36 UTC
For a few months, I knew KDE crashes that I can't explain, even after a careful search on Google and bugs forums.
I'll transmit the extraction of auth.log, that shows weird things with pam before session close. I've tested it 4 times to show you, and the system doesn't behave exactly the same each one. I've entirely recompiled the system (I'm on Gentoo), including pam of course, and nothing special occurs.
You can see after each crash I log on root (to look at auth.log).
The last crash you can see here (11:30) occurs when I was just typing this big report : it shows that there are different ways to produce it, and it IS very annoying :-(( .

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open my KDE session
2. Open Konsole
3. Chmod a file that belongs to me

or

1. Open my KDE session
2. Type a text in Firefox
Actual Results:
KDE crash and reload in the instant (I've chosen the option of reload after X server crash, so I believe it's the normal reaction).

Expected Results:
No KDE crash for such commons operations !

I can do this action with no problem in console mode, or in a X session not using KDE (I've tested XFCE).
