Description Shane Bro 2003-12-07 23:09:52 UTC
I downloaded the 1st ISO for Gentoo (1.4 I believe) and the boot screen, after
the CD Rom boot Gentoo Linux, reports my processor as an 1800+. I know this is
not true as I had some issues with a local computer store trying to sell me a
Barton core (2500+) and it only came up as a 1000 MHZ processor. After the
2400+ was put in the BIOS saw this as a 2000 MHZ processor

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Put in boot CD and let Gentoo boot from it.
2. Watch screen that auto detects the processor and it comes up as an 1800+
3.

Actual Results:
I have not actually installed Gentoo yet. I am in the middle of doing so.

Expected Results:
The software should see my 2400+ as a 2400+

Please contact me and I can show you screen shots of Windows XP that shows this
as a 2400+ and when I install Gentoo I will also send you screen shots.

Moving these so we can remove the "Install CD" component from "Gentoo Linux".

I apologize to everyone for this spam, but according to the bugzilla developers,
this is the only reasonable way to do this.
