To investigate data corruption issues with the Atom nodes at OSL, we would like to get two pieces of RAM from the Supermicro hardware compatibility list. This should be from the $1000 annual Infra budget. - Hynix HYMP125S64CP8Y5 (2GB DDR2 PC2-5300 667Mhz SODIMM) http://cgi.ebay.com/2GB-DDR2-SODIMM-200PIN-PC2-5300-HYMP125S64CP8Y5-/110638051432?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19c28ab068
quantumsummers: To cut down on the repayment middle-man issues, could you please order two pieces from the eBay link, and reship to OSL upon receipt? $40.43USD * 2 = $80.83USD.
Small update. I ordered 2 of these a week or so ago. I anticipate receipt of the modules any time this week.
I'll resolve this bug as FIXED since the new RAM is already running in bluebird. Thanks so far, it runs fine now :)
FYI, on bluebird I had some faults that were reproducible (simply running the masterrsync service). Now, I can run it fine. Initial testing of RAM seems good.
All - To close this subject. I have now completed testing of the remaining Atom servers using idl0r's test script that showed us issues before. I can no longer find any issues and claim that all the Atom servers are working as expected. in response to: #gentoo-trustees 2011-03-20 15:19 <@NeddySeagoon> Open Floor ... 15:19 <@robbat2> two notifications re infra for open floor, i want on the log due to budget implications 15:20 <@NeddySeagoon> robbat2, contine ... 15:20 <@robbat2> 1. the test RAM replacement in the Atom went great, the stability massively improved. we're seeing how many of the other atom servers now need the HCL-listed RAM for better stability Thanks, Jeremy
I can't find a record of this expense, in Paypal OR bank statements; Infra did get the RAM, but I think Matthew never reimbursed himself. Lacking any records as to the amount at all, I'm not going to issue any reimbursement.
