Description Arnaud Vallette d'Osia 2011-01-26 22:47:04 UTC
Upgrading from media-libs/mesa-7.9 to 7.10 produces huge fonts corruptions.
I have not tested media-libs/mesa-7.9.1.
Corruption is encountered with default X settings, and I could not tweak it.
It happens regardless of "anti-aliasing" option or any other in blender.
Radeon R200 (Mobility 9250) in my laptop.
xorg-server 1.9.2 and x11-libs/libdrm 2.4.23
Tryed with blender 2.56, also did I desactivate ColorTiling which produced blender'icons corruption with my card for a while.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Update to 7.10 version
2.Launch blender and try to any piece of text

Sorry with answering time : had to re-emerge stuff :-)
dmesg and Xorg.0.log files are not affected at launching blender or brain workshop.
Comment 7 Arnaud Vallette d'Osia 2011-04-01 22:32:54 UTC
ebuild got marked "stable" with no correction applied:
emerge -avDNu world
got my softs displaying corrupted texts still.
I fear that problem goes far beyond my competences, but I wish I could help.
Comment 8 Chí-Thanh Christopher Nguyễn gentoo-dev 2011-07-10 04:02:59 UTC
Does the problem still exist with mesa-7.11_rc1?
Comment 9 Arnaud Vallette d'Osia 2011-07-12 06:47:34 UTC
Just emerged the stuff and : nope, the problem has gone.
Kudos to developpers!
