I have software raid1 /dev/md0 composed from two hard-disks. md0 contains logical volumes, which are using like harddisk for KVM virtual machine. If i create lvm snapshot of some logical volume while re-syncing md0 all lvm crash by reading from snapshot. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. resync raid device 2. create snaphost from lvm on placement on resyncing device 3. read from snapshot #mdadm -D /dev/md5 /dev/md5: Version : 1.2 Creation Time : Sat Oct 9 17:10:31 2010 Raid Level : raid1 Array Size : 976758841 (931.51 GiB 1000.20 GB) Used Dev Size : 976758841 (931.51 GiB 1000.20 GB) Raid Devices : 2 Total Devices : 2 Persistence : Superblock is persistent Update Time : Mon Jan 24 00:20:33 2011 State : active Active Devices : 2 Working Devices : 2 Failed Devices : 0 Spare Devices : 0 Name : medved:5 (local to host medved) UUID : 9e06cde2:84e797ca:741eb64a:3bca0d5a Events : 79 Number Major Minor RaidDevice State 0 8 33 0 active sync /dev/sdc1 1 8 49 1 active sync /dev/sdd1 # vgdisplay --- Volume group --- VG Name kvm2 System ID Format lvm2 Metadata Areas 1 Metadata Sequence No 533 VG Access read/write VG Status resizable MAX LV 0 Cur LV 7 Open LV 6 Max PV 0 Cur PV 1 Act PV 1 VG Size 931.51 GiB PE Size 4.00 MiB Total PE 238466 Alloc PE / Size 77824 / 304.00 GiB Free PE / Size 160642 / 627.51 GiB VG UUID zdh6pJ-3DWd-ZS1z-jMOJ-CcQ3-6xje-4ddS8I # lvdisplay /dev/kvm2/owl_data --- Logical volume --- LV Name /dev/kvm2/owl_data VG Name kvm2 LV UUID 3z2YtB-DqJk-1zfO-rhEg-nnSk-cBun-gU9ErE LV Write Access read/write LV Status available # open 1 LV Size 160.00 GiB Current LE 40960 Segments 1 Allocation inherit Read ahead sectors auto - currently set to 256 Block device 253:1

I can't reproduce it here at all. Can you reproduce it on other systems, or ideally, provide an exact LVM+MDRAID setup w/ storage on loopback devices that reproduces it.
