Description Richard 2011-01-22 12:58:51 UTC
This is a metabug. Over the past month, I have been trying to install Gentoo/FreeBSD in a virtual machine and I finally managed to get the installation to boot on its own yesterday. I chronicled some of the issues that I had doing that on the Gentoo forums. This bug is meant to track all of the individual bugs that I discovered as a result.

Unfortunately, I have other things to do so filing proper bug reports will likely be spread out over several weeks. As I file them, I will add them to this bug.

I have some bad news. About 10 days ago, the hard drive storing the virtual machine into which I had installed Gentoo/FreeBSD died taking the virtual machine with it. I won't be able to file any more bug reports until I setup a RAID 5 array to replace the drive and make a new virtual machine.
