I'm trying to track down a problem with netatalk, and I've encountered something strange during configure: checking for _FILE_OFFSET_BITS value needed for large files... 64 checking for 64 bit off_t... no checking if large file support is available... no configure: WARNING: AFP 3.x support requires Large File Support. AFP3.x support disabled I'm on a 64-bit system, and I've done plenty with files over 4GB. I've tried adding the largefile USE flag, but that doesn't help. There's clearly something screwy here. Reproducible: Always # emerge --info Portage 2.1.9.31 (default/linux/amd64/10.0, gcc-4.4.5, glibc-2.12.2-r0, 2.6.37-gentoo x86_64) ================================================================= Technically, '-Werror' is asking for a headache, but that aside, what's in config.log ?
Please attach the config.log.
Created attachment 260388 [details] Config log Sorry about the delay.
Well, one of the standard configure checks fails with -Werror. Honestly, I'm not surprised. Try again without it.
Yes, remove -Werror and you should be fine.
