Paste a bigger chunk of that output.
Basically, your problem is that one of your packages still depends on unslotted php.

That's clear, but how to find that package.
I think that I've pasted everything.
I've also checked some other similar bugs, where the problem was "magicwand" or somthing like that, but I don't have anything like that. The sustem is a small server, it doesn't even have Xserver, basically just a LAMP.
Comment 3 Rafał Mużyło 2011-01-11 16:59:22 UTC
'emerge -upvDt world' and paste whole output.

Unfortunately, no clear info there.
Try putting 'dev-lang/php:5' in package.mask and check the output again.

The output is exactly the same.
This system is quite old, more then 5 years.
Last update was in December/November 2010 as I remember.
(May be this can help you to guess what could be a problem)

Comment 7 Rafał Mużyło 2011-01-12 14:47:12 UTC
Let's try something different then:
full output of 'equery d dev-lang/php'.

Comment 9 Rafał Mużyło 2011-01-12 16:08:53 UTC
OK, try 'emerge -upvD --with-bdeps y world'.

I think I know which package exactly is the problem, but it doesn't really matter.
Comment 10 Dmitry Stepankov 2011-01-12 16:18:36 UTC
Please note, that trying to solve the problem I already modified the system in following way:

emerge -Du system (which caused no blocks)
revdep-rebuild
then I have unmerged: joomla (all slots) and virtual/httpd-php-5.2
however it didn't help.

Please see the output of the command you just had suggested:
-----

# emerge -upvD --with-bdeps y world

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Also I've just unmerged app-admin/php-toolkit,
then emerged app-admin/eselect-php
one block has vanished now ...
---------------

# emerge -pv php

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

I have a question:
What does it mean @selected ?
Or how it can be selected?

dev-lang/php:5 required by @selected

Seems that you have packages in your tree no longer referenced by any package in world set.
OK, your problem is dev-lang/swig - update it and the block should be gone
(it depends on virtual/php, which no longer exist).

It should have been picked up by 'emerge -upvD --with-bdeps y world',
but it seems whatever needed it, no longer does.

I have already did that (just forgot to mention),
but it didn't solved the problem.

Tomorrow I'll try to remerge everything what depends on php,
it's not so many packages now.
I can also do that one by one, each time checking if problem has gone,
if it will help you to improve the ebuild somehow ...
Comment 16 Rafał Mużyło 2011-01-12 21:06:29 UTC
Perhaps that virtual/php is still floating in your tree ?
Comment 17 Dmitry Stepankov 2011-01-13 08:17:15 UTC
Solution was just to unmerge the old php:
dev-lang/php-5.3.3-r1
Comment 18 Dmitry Stepankov 2011-01-13 12:48:08 UTC
The only problem now is that when I'm using a php-5.3.5 with joomla-1.5.22
I have a lot of errors on the web like:

Strict Standards: Non-static method JLoader::import() should not be called statically in /var/www/localhost/htdocs/joomla_cms/libraries/joomla/import.php on line 29

Strict Standards: Non-static method JLoader::register() should not be called statically in /var/www/localhost/htdocs/joomla_cms/libraries/loader.php on line 71

Comment 19 Dmitry Stepankov 2011-01-13 12:56:51 UTC
Should I fire the new bug as joomla-1.5.22 bug now?
Comment 20 Dmitry Stepankov 2011-01-13 13:24:24 UTC
So, the problem with STRICT STANDARDS seems to be coming from joomla itself:
http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?p=2073426

And it must be solved by changing php.ini:
error_reporting = E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE

However after I've modified php.ini which is in our case at:
/etc/php/apache2-php5/php.ini

It doesn't help. Do you have any guess what's the reason?
Comment 21 Dmitry Stepankov 2011-01-13 13:29:30 UTC
Ok got it.
The file now is at:
/etc/php/apache2-php5.3/php.ini

Thanks for help!
