Description Fab 2011-01-08 23:35:36 UTC
Hi,

I discovered that games-arcade/supertux-0.1.3 segfaults with the --sdl backend on x86. Unfortunately, the sdl backend seems to be the default backend when no configuration is found, even if it was built with USE="opengl". I can reproduce the crash on two differents x86 systems.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. install games-arcade/supertux-0.1.3 with USE="opengl" on x86
2. run : supertux --sdl

Actual Results:
crash with segfault

Comment 2 Mr. Bones. (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-01-09 04:35:55 UTC
Try it with the latest version of libsdl and see if that makes any difference.
Comment 3 Fab 2011-01-09 08:56:37 UTC
Yes, does not crash with libsdl-1.2.14-r4, thanks.
Comment 4 David J Cozatt 2011-01-16 22:57:58 UTC
I can also generate a segfault and a hard machine lock with r128 and ATI M4 32MB. Dell Inspiron 8000
If sdl is built with 'aalib' in USE flags.

setting via export the SDL_DISPLAY to x11 fixed that. Or remove the support for aalib (ansi art) from sdl
Comment 5 Mr. Bones. (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-04-26 22:16:36 UTC
closing now that the newer libsdl is marked stable.
