It seems like some python modules are missing.
The relative kde libraries are there though.

Comment 2 Michael Weber (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-01-08 10:34:05 UTC
Hi,

I think it's kde-base/pykde4 which is missing.
Can you please try to temporarily fix this by installing it (`emerge -av1 kde-base/pykde4`) and report back?

Thanks, Michael
Comment 3 Leonardo 2011-01-08 10:48:26 UTC
cmtl leonardo # emerge -pv1 pykde4

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild R ] kde-base/pykde4-4.4.5 USE="semantic-desktop (-aqua) -debug -doc -examples (-kdeenablefinal) (-kdeprefix)" 0 kB

Total: 1 package (1 reinstall), Size of downloads: 0 kB
Comment 4 Andreas K. Hüttel archtester gentoo-dev 2011-01-08 11:02:24 UTC
Have you recently updated python? If yes, have you run pyhton-updater afterwards?
Comment 5 Leonardo 2011-01-08 12:02:41 UTC
Running python-update re-emerged some packages [for example boost], but didn't fix the problem.
It still gives the same error message.
Comment 6 Rafał Mużyło 2011-01-08 15:47:38 UTC
Perhaps it's not python upgrade, but sip upgrade ?
Comment 7 Leonardo 2011-01-08 18:18:09 UTC
sip upgrade?
Comment 8 Rafał Mużyło 2011-01-08 18:56:42 UTC

> sip upgrade?
>

As per postinst note, upon upgrading sip you need to rebuilt stuff that depends on it: i.e. PyQt4, qscintilla, pykde4, etc.
Comment 9 Leonardo 2011-01-08 20:46:31 UTC
re-emerging pykde4 fixed the problem
anyway, shouldn't portage detect the problem and suggest appropriate fixing instructions?
Comment 10 Rafał Mużyło 2011-01-08 20:57:25 UTC
Portage only detects that correct deps are installed.
sip postinst message is quite clear.
That's just the way sip works.
