Upstream clarified logic behind the Makefile in respect to different behavior for fltk-1.1 vs. 1.3. We need to rework better the ebuild I think to catch the dependencies through portage better. I think with my recent changes Makefile works as expected but I would have to test both fltk versions. I won't have time next days for this, somebody please step in if possible. Sci overlay has my "current" and working ebuild. Hi Martin, Files FL/Fl_Native_File_Chooser.<cxx,H> are used ONLY with FLTK 1.1.x, so you don't have to compile Fl_Native_File_Chooser.cxx (nor to link with it), since you're using FLTK 1.3 Instead, you have to compile and link svg.cxx The Makefile defines where is the FLTK source tree on your system: FLTK = /usr/include If this source tree is installed in another location in your system, you should use this instead: FLTK = $(HOME)/fltk-1.3.0 #this default should be customized IFLTK = -I$(FLTK) LFLTK = -L$(FLTK)/lib then it tests whether file $(FLTK)/FL/Fl_Device.H exists because this is diagnostic of FLTK 1.3 and if this file does exist, it links with svg.cxx and ignores FL/Fl_Native_File_Chooser.cxx. My idea is that if you correctly adapt the "FLTK = xxx" statement to your setup, the Makefile should work well. Am I wrong ? When using FLTK 1.1.x, the statement #include "FL/Fl_Native_File_Chooser.H" is adequate because FL/Fl_Native_File_Chooser.H belongs to the seaview source tree, not to the external FLTK source tree. This works when the Makefile is run with the seaview.cxx-containing directory as current directory because CFLAGS includes -I. But, in any case, you should not use files FL/Fl_Native_File_Chooser.<cxx,H> when using FLTK 1.3 Hope this clarifies the issue. Manolo
